Remote Services
World Wide Packets’ suite of Remote Services provides continuing access to the Professional Services team’s expertise and to the company’s sophisticated monitoring services at very compelling prices. These services are typically purchased as follow-on services to the company’s Packaged Professional Services.
Remote Services Engineer
A Remote Services Engineer (RSE) contract provides direct access to an expert Systems Consulting Engineer who is familiar with your network, staff and business after completion of a Professional Services project. An RSE contract provides customers with guaranteed access to a World Wide Packets expert during core business hours. Remote Service Engineers are world-class additions to a customer’s staff and can provide a rapid response to technical issues, post-project remote support, staffing gap coverage, or interim transition support. RSE contracts are available as annual contracts and include Professional Services discounts during the contract term.
Hosted Ethernet Services Manager
To help its customers realize the power and efficiency of its innovative Ethernet Services Manager (ESM) network and service management solution, World Wide Packets offers ESM as a hosted service that is available in two versions, ESM Lite™ and ESM RNOC™, for small and medium networks. Purchasing ESM as a hosted service provides the same level of management and security without the resource overhead associated with deploying the software locally. All customer data is backed up to World Wide Packets’ secure, 24x7 data center. With the service there is no hardware to purchase and no maintenance backups or upgrades. And, the ESM platform can be customized to meet a customer’s requirements and updated remotely with no interaction from the customer. Remote monitoring services are also available for hosted ESM customers as an option (see Guardian below).
Ethernet Services Guardian™
An additional option with ESM Lite and ESM RNOC services is an active network monitoring service called Ethernet Services Guardian (ESG). With ESG, monitored statistics and device configurations are continually validated against their defined network baseline, and customers are notified of any significant changes to their networks. All exceptions to the network baseline are escalated to the customer and to World Wide Packets Customer Support for action and resolution. ESG Services can be purchased as an add-on to an annual hosted ESM contract or quarterly to provide for gaps in staffing coverage or for other periodic needs for enhanced network monitoring and analysis.
Event Services
Event Services are one-time service events that can be purchased as needed with a hosted ESM package. Event Services include inventory and audit; network provisioning and upgrades; manual network checkups; and extended monitoring. Event services can be purchased individually or bundled with a hosted service.
